JOURNEY to KOREAN MUSIC

INFORMATION & Knowledge Sharing

PAMS Salon is a program that shares different information on Performing Arts and vitalizes exchanges and interactions between market participants. During our FORUM, we will mainly discuss International Cooperation and Audience Development. In our OPEN TALK, we will be hosting open networking & discussion sessions between festivals, venues, and artists who will participate to collaborate with this year’s PAMS.

[PAMS X SPAF] The Borderless questions and experimentation: Dance X Technology

With the advancement of technology, an era of new challenges and expansion has opened for artists and artists' work. For the artists, “technology” is an interesting tool as a new medium for creation, What does “technology” mean, and what is the relationship between art and technology in creation? And how is choreography changing and transitioning in the realm of digital technology?

[PAMS X SPAF] ASIA CONNECTION : New Narratives & Transformation

How does Asian contemporary art contemplate the time of change and transformation? In the post-pandemic era, post/de-colonialism, the era of digital technology and climate crisis, what does Asian contemporary art pay attention to, and from what perspective do artists view and create contemporary art? And how should we make new connections with Southeast Asia and the First Nations in Australia and New Zealand?

[PAMS X ACC] The Roles and Visions of Performing Arts Venues in Asia

We will be sharing the roles and visions of art theaters in Asia in terms of producing and creating art. Asia Culture Center(ACC) will share their examples to facilitate the discussion.

The Asia Culture Center (ACC) is an international arts and cultural exchange organization that produces new, future-oriented results through the convergence of Asia’s past and present arts and culture with innovative ideas and beliefs. Having the context of artistically sublimating the significance of the May 18th Democratic Movement’s human rights and peace as its point of departure, the ACC, which opened in November 2015, is a Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism–affiliated institution established for the advancement of mutual understanding and cooperative growth with different Asian countries through exchange, education, research, and other efforts with regard to Asian culture. The ACC plays the role of an integrated platform for participants from Asia and the rest of the world to freely unite and exchange their ideas while transcending boundaries in carrying out the steps of research, creation, and production.

[PAMS X JKM] Journey to Korean Music : Networking for International Circulation of Korean Music

The World Music Experts, Traditional Music Artists, and related officials will all be gathered during our 4th open talk. We will introduce each party’s projects (Traditional Music groups, venues, festivals, etc.) and interact with each other.

Journey to Korean Music is an international music platform that promotes Korean music’s international circulation. [PAMS X KAMS ACADEMY] Special Lecture for Future Korean Performance Arts Professionals

This session will host a lecture and networking session for selected groups at the Management of KAMS ACADEMY to foster them to become the next generations of performing Arts specialists.

The KAMS ACADEMY of the Korea Arts Management Service (KAMS), established in 2007, changed its name to ‘KAMS ACADEMY’ in 2003 to create a growth engine for the arts business by nurturing arts ecosystem professionals through corporate-style systematic promotion and to lay the foundation for the arts industry. In addition, the KAMS ACADEMY has diversified its program to focus on existing professionals by taking as its key initiatives ‘Professional group training by stage’, ‘Arts for strengthening corporate management expertise’ and ‘Development of path for ecosystem growth’. This has become a core part of its professional training program that will help nurture and deploy arts professionals and companies who are needed in the field.
